Kelly's greatest love for music lies in its creation. She has been greatly enamored of the sound of human voices together for most of her life, and specializes in arranging and composing different kinds of vocal music. Her work leading the nationally recognized Mandarins of Syracuse University earned her several arranging awards and gave her incredible experience as an arranger and director. A specialist in contemporary a cappella, Kelly has written for very diverse groups of all ages and skill levels. Kelly also composes music, including children's songs, and music for independent films. Her interest in many different styles of music gives her a good ear for many different compositional needs.
Kelly has recently answered the challenge of composing a rock musical for children to use in the program she created and directs at the Music Training Center in Conshohocken. The Brementown Musicians: Rock the Farm is a one act musical that stresses the importance of friendship, teamwork, loyalty, and of course, rock n' roll. It is already gathering excellent feedback from the many families involved, and will open in December. Pictures and perhaps sound clips to follow...
